  1. Wine tasting is the sensory examination and evaluation of wine.
  2. Wine Tasting is under taken to know about the flavors, aromas and general characteristics of a wine.
  3. There are 4 recognized stages to wine tasting : appearance, “in glass” the aroma of the wine, “in mouth” sensations, “finish” (aftertaste).
  4. Appearance – Check out the color and clarity of the wine.
  5. Aroma – To get a good impression of your wine’s aroma, gently swirl your glass and then take a quick whiff to gain a first impression. For the second impression stick your nose down into the glass and take a deep inhale through your nose.
  6. Taste - Start with a small sip and let it roll around your tongue. There are three stages of taste: the Attack phase, the Evolution phase and the Finish. Enjoy all the three complete and merely do not gulp the wine.
  7. AfterTaste – Notice the aftertaste of the wine. Some linger for a long time, others don’t.
